Broken Circle is an unreleased rpg created by 7 Raven Studios. The game, which story was based on Nordic mythology, had a troubled development: publishers weren’t interested because it was too risky to cover the release costs for an unknown title that needed a big and expensive 256mbits cartridge.
By the time that the programmers managed to shrink Broken Circle to 64mbits, the console was at the end of its life and the only publisher interested in the game was not officially authorized by Nintendo.
In 2009, 7Raven Studios decided to release a rom of the game on its website, but now the download link is broken. The rom can be easily found with a google search, though.
As some of you probably known already, those lovely gamers at Sega Saturno were able to preserve and release various cancelled titles for the Sega consoles (X-Men 32X, Virtual Hamster, Lobo…) in the last few months. Almost two months after their last release, SEGASaturno in cooperation with Hidden Palace, are back again presenting a prototype of an unreleased Saturn game, ready to be released as soon as the required public donations are met.
The title of the soon-to-be-leaked game is currently unknown, but we’ll learn more about it when they will be able to reach the target amount of 550$. They have already opened a topic on the Hidden Palace Forum with some more info on this new proto-fundraising:
-Well, which company is this coming from? Any tip about it? -It’s from a famous company. In fact, it’s one of the best and most well known videogame companies.
-Is this already available in some other console or system? -It’s a totally unreleased game, not available in any other platform. Therefore, it’s a never-seen-before game.
-Why donating for a game I don’t know which one it is until the required quantity is met? -Because you already know it is an unreleased game for the Sega Saturn, something that is not easy to obtain. I bet there’s an interest in making something like this available to everyone.
-Is the game complete? -No, it’s an early prototype. This is not in its final development stages for sure.
If you want to help to preserve this unseen game, donations have to be sent to [email protected], stating SATURN in the description so they can know for sure the funds are oriented to this release. You can also donate through the PayPal addressed field in the Hidden Palace Contribute section: www.hidden-palace.org/?contribute
Beyond Zero Tolerance (or Zero Tolerance 2) is a FPS developed by Technopop for the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis. It was meant to be a sequel to Zero Tolerance, but it was never finished. Both games have been deemed by the (now defunct) developer to be publicly distributable as freeware. [Info from Wikipedia] You can download the playable beta of the game at Technopop memorial site. Huge props to the developers for sharing this piece of gaming history with the community!
Robocop VS Terminator is a action game based on the mini-series of comic book with the same name that was released for all the main consoles between 1993 and 1994. A version for the Nintendo 8-bit was developed by Interplay but later canceled, because the system was considered commercially dead and probably also due to the low quality of the gameplay: RvT NES had nothing in common with the other editions, being just a lame and generic action game. The beta was later leaked on the Internet and you can easily find it with Google.
In november 2008 Sample_Seller opened an auction on Ebay for a Batman prototype that was in development by Software Creations for the Super Nintendo.

As we can read on Wikipedia, Software Creations were primarily known for their video games based on movie and comic licenses like Marvel Comics, Cutthroat Island, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and original titles Solstice and the sequel Equinox. Their Batman project was never released for unknown reasons.
As Yakumo as noted, this Batman demo has been on the scene for years, infact since the begining of the Super Magicom, Wildcard, profighter and so on. A rom of the demo was leaked and should be easily findable with google.
You can read more info on this beta at SNES Central!
Thanks to Yakumo and Celine for the contributions!
