PC Cocoron [PC Engine – Cancelled]

PC Cocoron is a cancelled platform game that was in development for the PC Engine. It seems that this project was meant to be a sequel of the Cocoron NES game, which is notable for allowing customization of the main character. Not many more info are available about PC Cocoron and it was soon lost in the unreleased games limbo.

Scans from Console Plus issue 28, GameFan issue 1-12, Marukatsu Vol 1 1994 and Marukatsu Vol 2 1994.

Sonic Mega Collection [Beta – GameCube / PS2]

As we can read on Wikipedia, Sonic Mega Collection is a sonic-games compilation for the Nintendo GameCube and Playstation 2. The compilation contains twelve to fourteen games depending on the region, all originally released on the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis console. Ten of the included games are installments of the Sonic the Hedgehog series, while the remaining two to four games are only related to the series by company. Sonic CD and Sonic Drift were also planned to be included in the beta version, but the former was deferred to Sonic Gems Collection and the latter appeared in Sonic Mega Collection Plus. Below you can see is an extremely old video of Sonic Mega Collection with all the originally planned games.

The Adventures of Tintin [Beta – Xbox 360 / PS3 / Wii]

The Adventures of Tintin is an Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii game based off of the 2011 movie of the same name, which itself is based off of the classic book series by Herge. It’s mixed genera game that features side scrolling and 3D sections where you can control the young reporter Tintin, his faithful dog Snowy, or the drunken, but trusty sailor Captain Haddock.

First unveiled during Microsoft’s 2011 E3 conference, the game looked similar to it’s final version. There were still a couple beta differences, namely Tintin wielding a gun during the motorcycle section in the trailer as opposed to the final’s slingshot. This change was most likely done to keep the game’s E-10 rating.
