Some more characters cut from Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom

We already knew that Capcom thought to have Phoenix Wright as a playable character in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, but it had to be cut in the end. Now we can read about some of the Tatsunoko characters that never made it into the final game, thanks to an article on Kotaku:

The hardest part of making the game, it seems, was figuring out which characters to include from Tatsunoko’s more than 80 cartoons, and then getting the company to OK their choices. […]

“One of the main anime we got more requests for than any others was Samurai Pizza Cats,” he said. “There were a lot of people who wanted to see that. I wanted to see that, but we couldn’t reach an agreement.”

Another set of characters shot down by Tatsunoko were the transforming-motorcycle riders of Genesis Climber MOSPEADA.

“They told us what we could and couldn’t use,” he said. “If they said no we cut them.

“We weren’t privy to a lot of their decision making process. They didn’t share a lot of reasons with us. When they said no and we asked why, they wouldn’t tell us, but would give us another suggestion.”

MegaMan Battle Network debug stuff!

The Mega Man Battle Network series is one of Capcom’s Mega Man spin-off series that debuted in 2001 on the Game Boy Advance. MegaRockReborn was able to find some debug controls in  Megaman Battle Network #3, #4, #5 and #6 that are basically text messages that activate cheat-like effects (as changing the sprite of the main character or gain various items). Perfect Dark Beta Analysis: now translated!

The original Perfect Dark is a FPS developed by Rare and released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000. In 2001, monokoma wrote a long article about all the beta differences that can be noticed in the early screens and videos. Mario vs Donkey Kong 2 [DS – Beta]

Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis is a Puzzle Game developed by NST as a sequel to the GBA MvsDK, a follow up to the Game Boy Donkey Kong game. A playable beta demo of MvsDk2 was available at various gaming conventions, from where it was saved on the DS and then shared online.

Upaluppa noticed many differences in this beta demo, as wrote in his videos on Youtube:

– The music sounds quite different

– There are hearts instead of big coins

– The small coins are rotating

– Mushroom Mayhem is called Mushroom Kingdom

– The status screen is completely different

– There’s a level map available by pressing Select

– The map looks VERY incomplete…

– The first level is completely different

– Later levels have some minor differences

– Some sound effects are different

– There is no time limit

Zelda Majora’s Mask debug has been leaked!

After that awesome Ocarina of Time debug ROM (that still had some beta / prototype areas in it!), the lovely Zelda-hacker Cendamos was able to buy and share a Debug version of Zelda: Majora’s Mask! Will there be any unused or beta rooms still hidden in there? We’ll have to wait and see what those zelda-hackers will be able to find.
