Scorched Earth [3DO – Cancelled]

When the 3DO was first revealed in mid 1993 among the games presented by Electronic Arts to support the system there was a mysterious action game titled Scorched Earth. Very little is known about it and it’s still unclear if it has anything to do with the artillery game with the same name. Scorched Earth’s developer is rumored to be Monkey Do Productions (Road Rush for 3DO). Let us know if you have additional information about this game!

Shinkai (God World) [NES – Cancelled]

Shinkai (translated by mrdomino as God World) is a cancelled adventure game (?) that was in development by Toei Animation for the Famicom / NES. It seems that players would have took the role of a dead guy, that somehow had to interact with good and evil gods.. or something like that. Sadly there are not many more info on the project, but only a scan and a couple of screens shared online by a japanese website. Even more screenshots were found by Heimao on Twitter.

Sonic Extreme [XBOX – Prototype / Pitch]

Sonic Extreme is a pitch / early proto created by Vision Scape Interactive, that was recently discovered by ProtonX (from the Assembler Forum) on a development unit for the original Xbox console. The project features Sonic skateboarding around in an area reminiscent of Heroes‘s Seaside Hill. Additionally, there appears to be a battle mode with Sonic and Shadow built in the same split-screen style as Sonic Adventure 2: Battle / Mario Kart. Probably Vision Scape Interactive tried to pitch this project to SEGA, but without luck.

Vision Scape Interactive were also working on other cancelled games:

  • Tech Dude- Extreme Sports Game
  • Tiltronica- Action Party Game
  • Speed Metal- Car Combat/RPG
  • Revelations – Adventure/RPG
