SNES + Super Famicom

The Simpsons: Virtual Bart [SNES/MD/G – Beta]

The Simpsons: Virtual Bart was released for the Super NES and Mega Drive / Genesis in 1994 by Acclaim.  KeijiDragon (Kei) has recored some videos from an interesting prototype of the game, that is somewhat different from the final version. You can check the annotations in the videos for more details:

Japanese Super Famicom (the Japanese Super Nintendo) pre-release prototype of The Simpsons: Virtual Bart game. Why is it Japanese? The ROM header states that it’s “run” on Japanese systems, or something like that. There are lots of differences in this prototype that are between large and small, and this video goes into detail what’s in the prototype.

Thanks a lot to KeijiDragon / Kei for the contribution!

Clay Fighter 2 [SNES – Beta]

C-2: Judgement Clay, also known as Clay Fighter 2, is Interplay’s 1994 sequel to ClayFighter. This game was not as well received as its predecessor. Lucy, a gorilla, was originally planned to be a playable character in the game but was removed from the final version. Because Tiny’s sprite was reused from the first ClayFighter, it can be assumed that he replaced Lucy at the last minute. [Info from Wikipedia]

Lucas found out that Kangoo’s orignal name is Kanga, Blob’s original name is Thing, Googoo’s original name is Battling Baby, Hoppy’s original name is Battle Bunny and Rumored that Ickybod Clay was in the game

Thanks to Cubivore10 and Lucas Araujo for the contribution!

Super Punch-Out!! [SNES – Beta]

Super Punch-Out!! was released in North America on 1994, in Europe in 1995 and finally in Japan as part of the Nintendo Power flash RAM cartridge series in March 1998. Super Punch-Out!! is the fourth game in the Punch-Out!! series and Nintendo IRD was developing this game simultaneously with Zoda’s Revenge: StarTropics II. The game is based on Takeda’s original arcade versions of Punch-Out!! and Super Punch-Out!!. Before the game was finished and released, some screenshots of the beta seen in gaming magazines showed the protagonist of the game with a different look compared to his final version seen today.
