Dragon Booster [PS2 / XBOX – Cancelled]

Dragon Booster is a cancelled racing / combat game based on a canadian animated series first broadcast in 2004. The cartoon follows the story of young Artha Penn, a boy who rides Beaucephalis (or “Beau” for short), the dragon of legend. He becomes a Dragon Booster, a hero to protect the world from the impending Dragon-Human war, and to unite humans and dragons for all time. [Info from Wikipedia]

In 2003 Eden Games were working on this project for the Playstation 2 and Xbox, but the game was later cancelled for unknown reasons. A DS version was released in 2005, but it was developed by Konami (KCE Hawaii).

Worms Battle Rally [PS2 XBOX GC – Cancelled]

Worms Battle Rally is a cancelled racing / battle game similar to Mario Kart, that was in development by Team 17 in 2003 / 2004, probably planned for the Playstation 2, Xbox and GameCube. We can speculate that the gameplay was going to be similar to MK’s battle mode, at least from what we can see from the few screenshots preserved below, thanks to www.dream17.info.

Production on WBR was halted as part of the developer/publisher deal which resulted in Worms Forts: Under Siege.

San Francisco Rush Extreme Racing [GBC – Cancelled]

Announced in 1998, around the time of the Game Boy Color unveiling this cancelled conversion of San Francisco Rush looks quite excellent from the only image in our possession. Sadly this racing game was never released and the port for the little handheld of the  following episode, San Francisco Rush 2049, looked totally different and with a more conventional top-down perspective.

Grease & Grudge (Road Race) [3DO – Tech Demo]

Grease & Grudge (also known as Road Race) is a tech demo for a new racing game that was developed for the Panasonic 3DO, but they never released a title like that for the console. It is possible that this tech demo evolved somehow into Need for Speed, but for now it’s just a speculation. If you have more info about this demo, please let us know! Scans from Edge magazine 1 and 3.
