Fairytale Fights 2 is the cancelled sequel to Playlogic’s 2009 fantasy hack & slash. Just like in the first game players would have been able to play as cute fairy tales characters, cutting down colorful enemies and flooding levels with blood. The team created an early prototype for this sequel, but it was soon canned when Playlogic officially went bankrupt in 2010. Some screenshots and footage was later uploaded online by former Playlogic developers, preserved below to remember the existence of this lost project.
Project Delta is a cancelled FPS that was in development in 2005 by PlayLogic for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The game was announced when the “next gen consoles” were still not released, but it soon vanished without any official statement. It’s possible that Delta was originally in development for the PS2 and XBOX, with the code name “Project Snap”, another cancelled FPS that Playlogic was working on in 2004.
Project Delta’s gameplay was going to be more tactical than the usual first-person shooter: while shooting with our main character, we would had to command a team of soldiers and comfort or threaten them during the battles. The game was set in different time periods, as the story dealt with time travels from the future back to the dark ages.
Project Delta was cancelled for unknown reasons, but we can speculate that the team had some development or quality problems. Only few concept arts and models remain from the project, preserved in the gallery below.
White Fear (later renamed Inuits) is a canceled action-adventure game developed by Widescreen Games, first published by Microïds, then by Playlogic Entertainment, from 2002 to 2004 for PC and Playstation 2.
Announced in the spring of 2002 for a release initially scheduled for November of the same year, White Fear tells us the story of Iru, a young shaman who has to help the inhabitants of a polar village. The mighty witch Sukko not only destroyed their homes and settled the area with her servants, but also cast a terrible curse on them: turning them into lumps of ice. In addition to various melee weapons, Iru would also have magical powers taught by four spirits to take on trolls, goblins and other monsters (21 in total) through diverse environments across four worlds. As the game progressed, Iru was called upon to increase his powers through various items found throughout the adventure.The developers had planned three gameplay modes for the players: the first was normal (a little bit of magic and combat), the second was magic oriented, and the third focused on pure physical combat.
As we can read on Queutimes.com, it seems that Microïds made the decision to let go the project in 2004 after a certain number of postponements, and left the hand to Playlogic which canceled the game very quickly, not without having to change the name in the process. No statements were made about why it was dropped by Microïds neither canceled by Playlogic.
At the beginning of 2019, a prototype of the game dating from May 2002, leaked onto the Internet.
After its cancellation, Widescreen Games will work on many other projects, some also canceled, before filing for bankruptcy in 2009.
Wizard of Funk is a cancelled RPG that was in development in 2005 by Playlogic for the Playstation 2 EyeToy add-on. As we can read from the original press release, the player would have take the role of a young wizard, to physically cast spells in front of the EyeToy Camera to defeat his enemies. The game vanished from Playlogic’s release list without any official statement but we can speculate that it was cancelled for quality reasons.
