Freefall was an interesting project that was in development in 2002 by Ironworks Studios. It was set in the 22nd century, in a sky-city 18 miles above the earth’s surface. Gameplay begins by jumping off a building and free-falling to the ground, avoiding obstacles, people and the police along the way. Sadly the game was cancelled while only in a prototype stage. Freefall was the “twin project” of Gemini.
Harker was a video game being developed for the PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 by Double Helix Games. The game was said to be based on the fictional character Jonathan Harker, a vampire slayer.
In the trailer, Harker was perceived as a much more efficient and couragious vampire hunter, as opposed to the classic portrayal of Jonathan Harker in the Bram Stoker’s books and films, including Dracula. It was said that you take on the role of Jonathan Harker in the 18th century and try to rid the world of the unholy vampires.
Double Helix studios put the game on indefinite hold for the development of Silent Hill: Homecoming. Whether or not they plan to continue production of the game is unclear at this point. [Infos from Wikipedia]
The Secret of Zinj is an unreleased tie-in of the movie Congo. The game features many different gameplay styles, running the gamut from shooting enemies in first person à la Operation Wolf to canoeing. The problem is, they are all badly designed and very frustrating, in part because the graphic engine seems unfinished. The game was probably cancelled because of development issues and the fact that the Snes was at the end of his life.

Dante was a Xbox 3rd person action adventure game developed by ACeS Studio in 2000/2001.
“Before the system’s announcement, Microsoft had a mandate for the game studios it owned to come up with ideas, ideas that have never been realized before in games. ACeS’ Dante was one of the lucky few that made it to prototype phase, the screens below are from a marketing video created to display what the game’s style. The game would have put you in the place of firefighter Jeremiah Dante, as he was followed around by the “911 HoverCam” that filmed his adventures for a live TV show, as he fought fires using his futuristic, high-tech equipment like the cannon on his arm that used a combination of lasers (yes, lasers) and water to fight fires, this was supplied by that backpack you see on his arm. Apparently, the left stick controlled Dante, while the right stick would have controlled the direction of where the water/laser ended up. And the game’s logo feature the name of the game in smoke. Fortunately for us, this game was canceled before an actual working prototype was ready.”
