James Bond 007: Risico (Raven Software) [Cancelled – Xbox 360 / PS3]

As we can read on Wikipedia, James Bond 007: Risico is a cancelled game that was in development by Raven Software studios. This early replacement of Blood Stone was never officially announced, but some screenshots and videos were leaked on the internet. Risico was based on Ian Fleming’s short story “Risico” with the plotline expanded and involved with other unseen elements from James Bond novels written by Ian Fleming himself.

It’s possible that this Raven Software’s new James Bond title was cancelled because of MGM’s financial troubles, while G4 reports that the team has been told to put its  Bond project on hold and instead develop map packs for Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops. Also, James Bond 007: Risico might have been intended for a release during Christmas 2010, if Bloodstone had been released (as originally planned) in 2009. Two Bond games in the same timeframe – that was even enough for Activision.

Zodiac Assassin [PS3 – Cancelled Prototype]

Zodiac Assassin (PS3) was a prototype by Sony Cambridge in 2005. Studio director James Shepherd wanted to produce a globe-trotting, Kill Bill-esque assassin game. The game would have been set in a number of locations such as Mexico (during the “Day of the Dead” festival), Turkey and Japan. It was meant to feature a female lead who was heavily into disguises and assassinations. The title didn’t get very far as Sony was buying in the martial arts fantasy game Heavenly Sword from Ninja Theory.

Gotham by Gaslight Game [Cancelled – Xbox 360 / PS3]

As we can read in Wikipedia, Gotham by Gaslight is a DC Comics one-shot comic, considered to be the first Elseworlds story, where DC Comics heroes are taken out of their usual setting and put into alternate timelines or realities. In Gotham by Gaslight, Batman is set in 1889, in a sort of steampunk europe.

A game based on Gotham by Gaslight was pitched by Day 1 Studios, and an early prototype was created. Some menù concept arts are and a video of the proto are saved in below, to preserve its existence. Thanks to Supererogatory and MitsuharuSan for the contributions!

Kunio-kun: The Claw of Kowloon [PSX – Cancelled / Concept]

Kunio-kun: The Claw of Kowloon is a cancelled sidescrolling beat ’em up game in the famous Kunio-Kun series, that was in development by Technos Japan for the Playstation. The project was probably still in early concept phase before being canned, but from what we can see in the images below, they planned to make the characters more “realistic” than the usual super-deformer style of the previous Kunio-kun titles.

A big thanks to Johnny Undaunted for the contribution and translation from japanese.

Silent Hill 3 [Beta / Unused – PS2 / PC]

Silent hill 3 is a third-person survival horror game developed for the PlayStation 2 and PC by Konami and later released in HD on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Here is a list of the following unused beta textures and sounds found on the PC game disk of SH3.

1) Closer monsters have an unused climbing animation.

2) Nurses have an unused animation that shows the nurses attacking upside down from the ceiling.

3) Unused Baby crying sound

4 & 5)  Unused photo: Found only as a texture, it was originally meant to be in Heathers inventory, found in the apartment. In addtion to the unused photo there is some unused text attached to the photo, text only seen when the player examines said item:

“It’s of Dad and me at Christmas. Looking at this makes me want to try even harder. I have to…I can’t lose. They killed my dad and they have to pay for it.”

6) Finally there is an unused level. While only seen in the video below this article, it shows the level to be unfinished. Orignally meant to be part of the Mall?
