Gran Turismo 5 Development Images

These images give us a peak at the new Mercedes-Benz C63 in development, virtually confirming it for the next game.  We’ve also got our first look at Gran Turismo 5’s Tsukuba circuit through the windshield of the new BMW Z4 M Coupe, a wireframe model of the Nissan 370Z’s guage cluster, a Maserati Spyder undergoing sound testing, and two other currently unknown vehicles.  Less revealing images show the hard-working and seemingly cluttered atmosphere of the offices, providing an intimate look at what it’s like to work on the GT series.

Novadrome [XBOX/PS2 – Cancelled]

Novadrome is a vehicular combat game created by Stainless Games (the creators of Carmageddon) which was released on December 20, 2006 to the Xbox Live Arcade.  It was originally developed for PS2 and XBOX, but it looked more like a traditional racing game. These version were cancelled. In the 360 version, it pits players against each other in an arena style deathmatch similar to Twisted Metal. The game features three singleplayer modes (career, arcade, and free play) and a multiplayer mode for up to 8 players via Xbox Live. [Info from wikipedia]

Gun Beat [DC/Arcade – Cancelled]

GunBeat (also known as Glitter GunBeat) was an action/racing game created by Treasure for the Sega NAOMI arcade hardware in 1999. It was location-tested publicly, but canceled before its release. A few videos and images remain the only reliable sources of information about the game.

The game, which would have been Treasure’s first fully 3D title, appeared to have players race each other around circuitous tracks riding mounts, including a giant hamster. The game had action and combat elements, as well.

Production was terminated when the lead programmer left the company. This programmer has not been identified by name, but founding member “Fukuryu” is known to have left the company around this same time, and remains the best guess of fans. Treasure was not initially pleased with game’s progress and chose to end the project rather than attempt to replace the project leader. [Infos from Wikipedia]
