Lair Engine [Wii – Tech Demo]

Lair is a PS3 action / flying game developed by Factor 5 in which the player controls a knight named Rohn who rides a dragon. The original Lair 3D engine was downgraded to make it run on the Wii hardware, to develope new games for the Nintendo console. This Lair Engine for the Wii could have been used as a basic engine for the prototype of Kid Icarus Wii, a  project that Factor 5 tried to propose to Nintendo.

TimeSplitters 4 [Wii – Cancelled]

TimeSplitters 4 was not only planned for PS3 and Xbox 360 but also for Wii. The game was planned to be a “down-sized” version with several new gameplay elements due to the unique control interface. While most of FRD staff was working on the large PS3 and Xbox 360 version, only a small team was responsible for converting the assets for Wii.

When Free Radical Design filed bankrupty, the project was shelved.

Stuntman: Demolition [Wii – Cancelled]

In 2007, THQ-owned and now closed Locomotive Games developed a Wii game called Stuntman: Demolition. While both PS3 and Xbox 360 got Stuntman: Ignition, the Wii console was to get its own iteration. Due to mediocre sales of the Xbox 360/PS3 version, THQ decided to cancel the project and instead retired the whole franchise.

Stuntman: Demolition was the first title in the franchise which should have got an ongoing story and characters. You will find some character and vehicle art below.

Saints Row [Wii – Cancelled]

Thanks to Gone is Gone Blog we found out that Saint Row, a sandbox-style action game for the XBOX 360, was also planned to be released on the Wii. Developed by Californian Mass Media Inc, the game should had  the same gameplay of the 360 version, but with less graphic details. The game was cancelled, probably for  porting problems. A couple of screens from the Wii proto can be found at GiG, archived here for preservation purpose.
