Cluster Buster [SNES- Cancelled]

Written by Jonathan Smith (known programmer for his Spectrum works) when he was first hired at Rage Software, the game was a shoot ’em up scheduled for Super Nintendo around 1993.  Sadly Cluster Buster never found a publisher. Here is what  Joffa Smith recalled about the project in an interview with World of Spectrum:

With new offices in Bootle, I started work on an original game called Cluster Buster on the SNES. This was an eight-way scrolling defender style shoot’em up, with huge exploding planets and moons. Unfortunately no-one was interested in publishing it (Sonic the Hedgehog was all the rage) so it was abandoned.

Boo! [SNES/MD – Cancelled]

Boo! is a cancelled platform game that was in development by Micropose for the Super Nintendo, Genesis / Mega Drive and Amiga in 1994. As we can read on the website of Boo!’s producer Stuart Whyte:

Designed by Richard Lemarchand, Boo! was a side on platformer inspired by Sonic and Mario, we wanted to create a universe with the central character being a cool ghost called Boo who’s default method of attack was to shout “Boo!” at an enemy to scare him away. Working with Keith Scoble (from Cosgrove Hall and creator of Jamie and the Magic Torch and Dangermouse) we built a great game… but unfortunately, due to rocky financial times at Microprose, we never had the money to release – so the game has been lost in time

Firearm [SNES – Cancelled]

Firearm is a cancelled 2d action game developed by Malibu Interactive which  was planned to be released for Snes and Genesis. Nothing much is known about it, apart that it was based on the eponymous comic. In 2010 what it looks to be a test build of Firearm was uploaded on the internet. This version includes only two stages and it is barely playable. It seems that the game was dropped very early.

Christopher Columbus [SNES – Cancelled]

Christopher Columbus (aka Xpoferens Columbus) is a cancelled shoot ’em up that was in development by Misawa Entertainment for the Super Famicom / SNES in 1992 / 1993. The game was loosely based on the famous italian explorer, but with a fantasy twist: his ship was able to fly and to shoot energy bullets, to take down huge mammoths, weird sea creatures and ancient dragoons. It seems that Christopher Columbus was almost complete, it was even promoted in a catalog with other Misawa Entertainment’s titles from 1992 / 1993, but in the end the game was never released for unknown reasons.

Aspect Warriors [GEN MD SNES – Cancelled?]

Aspect Warriors is a cancelled action game / RTS based on the Warhammer 40000 universe, that was in development by Electronic Arts for the Genesis / Mega Drive and Super Nintendo. The game was previewed in some european magazines, but in the end it seems that it was never released (or was it published under a different name?). Only few screens remain to preserve the existence of Aspect Warriors.
