Armada was a sci-fi shooter released for the Dreamcast, that allowed 1-4 players to fly about the universe, fighting the enemy, performing missions and improving their ship. The player would gather credits to buy power-ups for their ship, allowing them to voyage deeper into enemy territory, blow up ever more powerful Armada, and perform missions of increasing importance and danger.

A sequel, Armada 2: Exodus, was under development, originally for the Dreamcast, then for the Xbox, Gamecube and possibly the PS2. However, due to repeated delays and redesigns along with limited resources, the game was canceled after spending over 4 years in varying degrees of development. [Infos from Wikipedia]

Ghouls & Ghosts Online was planned to be a MMO of CAPCOM’s cult classic Ghouls ‘N Goblins with platforming challenges and hordes of monsters to battle as well as community features like guilds. This project was announced at GDC in 2003 but the ambitious multiplatform MMO never saw the light of day.

Project BG&E (Beyond Good & Evil) [Beta]

Beyond Good & Evil is an action-adventure for the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox, designed by Michel Ancel, developed by Ubisoft and released in late 2003. In early development the game was referred to as “Project BG&E” and only later the complete title was revealed to the press. In these beta screens and video, we can see some major differences in the character design of the main protagonist (Jade) and in some screens there are even a couple of enemies and rooms that seem to have been removed from the final game.

Fear & Respect was a video game for the PlayStation 3, the PlayStation 2, the Xbox, and the Xbox 360 consoles that has been cancelled, although intended for a 2006 release. John Singleton was involved in the production of the game. He has directed movies (Boyz N the Hood, Baby Boy and 2 Fast 2 Furious) and has been involved with other video games in the past.

The game featured Snoop Dogg (who plays Goldie) and other characters. The player played in a third person mode. The objective of the game is to fight to gain respect of rival gangs in South Central Los Angeles. If the player gains a gang’s respect, then they will treat you differently than if they fear you.

At the time of announcement, there were very few details released about the game. However, one trailer and thirteen screenshots have been made available by Midway.

Although the game was intended for a 2006 release, however, as of March 1, 2006, Fear and Respect has been officially cancelled, as reported by GameSpot. It was believed that the game has been cancelled because of growing competition within the urban-themed video games market. The game is the earliest cancelled game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
