3D Laser Blaster [3DO – Cancelled]

3D Laser Blaster is a cancelled game that was in development for the Panasonic 3DO. When 3DO system was  first announced, goggles for stereoscopic 3D were shown as a prototype. 3D Laser Blaster (a shooter?) was the game planned to be the pack-in for this peripheral. However neither glasses or game were ever commercialised.

Below you can see images about the 3D glasses prototype for 3DO and game taken from EGM VideoGame Preview 1993.

Scorched Earth [3DO – Cancelled]

When the 3DO was first revealed in mid 1993 among the games presented by Electronic Arts to support the system there was a mysterious action game titled Scorched Earth. Very little is known about it and it’s still unclear if it has anything to do with the artillery game with the same name. Scorched Earth’s developer is rumored to be Monkey Do Productions (Road Rush for 3DO). Let us know if you have additional information about this game!

World Builders Inc. [3DO – Cancelled]

When 3DO was first revealed in mid 1993 among the games presented by Electronic Arts to support the system there was a nice sci-fi simulation called World Builders Inc. Not much is known about it however in September 1994 the game was already on hold for unknown reasons and in the end it was never released. If you know something else about World Builders Inc, please let us know!

Grease & Grudge (Road Race) [3DO – Tech Demo]

Grease & Grudge (also known as Road Race) is a tech demo for a new racing game that was developed for the Panasonic 3DO, but they never released a title like that for the console. It is possible that this tech demo evolved somehow into Need for Speed, but for now it’s just a speculation. If you have more info about this demo, please let us know! Rollcage (Team 17) [PSX SAT 3DO – Cancelled]

Rollcage is a cancelled racing game that was in development by Team 17 for the original Playstation, Saturn and 3DO. Even if the title is the same, this game is not the same Rollcage (a futuristic racer) developed by Attention To Detail and published by Psygnosis in 1999. Team 17’s Rollcage was a more traditional racing game, with “realistic” cars and tracks from the real world. There are no more info available on this project, but Celine was able to find some screenshots in CD Consoles magazine issue #7. Rollcage was never released on any platform, for unknown reasons.

Unclejun found a video from ECTS ’95 on a cover disc from Génération 4 issue #78 showcasing the game, it was supposed to be the first Daytona USA-like racing game on the PC, featuring a mix of stuntcar and stockcar gameplay and capable of 60fps on a Pentium.
