Dirty Harry was a cancelled video game that was in development by The Collective, Inc. intended to be published by Warner Bros. Interactive. The game was to continue the story of the 1971 motion picture of the same name starring Clint Eastwood as Harry Callahan, the main protagonist. Clint Eastwood was intended to reprise his role, lending his voice and likeness as well as consulting and creative input. The game was to follow the same storyline of the film, with the San Francisco detective tracking down a serial killer named Scorpio. Versions were planned for both the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360, with a release in 2007. [info from Wikipedia]

I constantly check this page, hoping someone from the ol’ Collective team might have added a comment with some insight as to why the project fell apart. The Collective produced two thrilling, inventive and greatly underrated action titles for the previous gen and I was desperate to play Dirty Harry. Hopefully someone will let some backstory slip somewhere, sometime.
Also, Gene Hackman was involved! All the talent and they still sunk it?
There’s got to be a compelling story behind it all.

Probably it’s still too soon to have some answers about the Dirty Harry cancellation, but i’m sure that it was a difficult decision because from those screens it looked really good.

I’ve never seen the movie (but im going to) and I still want the game. I have one question for Collective inc. “Did they feel lucky about the game? Well did they? Punks at Collective?” If they bring it back i’ll buy it even if it gets bad reviews. We need to start a riot! Who’s with me!? Huh?! BRING BACK DIRTY HARRY: THE VIDEOGAME! BRING BACK DIRTY HARRY: THE VIDEOGAME!
