Gears Of War: Exile (Kinect) [Cancelled – Xbox 360]

Gears of War: Exile is a cancelled game that was planned for the Xbox 360, to be played with the Kinect. Originally meant to be announced at E3 2011, although no such appearence was made that year. There is no information about GoW: Exile, although rumors speculate it would be on an on-rail Kinect game. Some test footage was shown, in which people used the Kinect to act out a scene from Gears 2 (does anyone have a video of this?).

A brief quote from Cliff:

“Let’s just bury the hatchet now, Gears of War: Exile was an unannounced game that I can’t give any details about that has since been cancelled.”

While there is no information about the game, the game’s logo has surfaced proving the game was indeed being developed.

Cesium [XBOX – Cancelled]

Cesium is a cancelled action adventure that was in development for the original Xbox by FASA Studio / Microsoft Games Studios in 2004. The project was canned in early prototype form and only some concept arts remain to preserve its existence. The game’s world evolved from fantasy floating cities to iconic asian levels and even the main protagonist was probably still undecided. We can speculate that the Cesium project was canned to move their resources on other games, as Crimson Skies. FASA Studio was officially shutdown in 2007.

Freefall [XBOX – Cancelled]

Freefall was an interesting project that was in development in 2002 by Ironworks Studios. It was set in the 22nd century, in a sky-city 18 miles above the earth’s surface. Gameplay begins by jumping off a building and free-falling to the ground, avoiding obstacles, people and the police along the way.  Sadly the game was cancelled while only in a prototype stage. Freefall was the “twin project” of Gemini.
