It was released! I had it, it’s called “Blood Lines”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEgZHyDJEj8
Hidden Palace have a prototype of this: http://hiddenpalace.org/Breakneck_%28Feb_5,_1998_prototype%29
Weird! One day after my previous post, another prototype has just been released at Hidden Palace, this time dating to June 1998: http://hiddenpalace.org/Blood_Lines_%28Jun_21,_1998_prototype%29
I hope to have a look at these two prototypes, the final release and the demo version and get an article posted.
I came across a disc last year that contained some files for Break Neck and looks like someone went as far to create a front insert and back insert, plus a cover image for the game.
I did go through the data and I forgot what program I used but I was able to play the game for a bit. I just need to remember what the program is again (my old harddrive kicked the bucket) so I can record gameplay.
wow, great find! please keep up updated if you’ll be able to record footage, it would be great to see more from the game
And yet another prototype released over at Hidden palace, this time it was a very early version known as Codename: Manhattan Project (according to the ingame title screen): https://hiddenpalace.org/Blood_Lines_(May_12,_1997_prototype)
This game did go on the market, but with the name “Blood Lines”.
thanks for the info Dan! i’ll update the page :)
