Capcom Fighting All-Stars [PS2/Arcade – Cancelled]

Capcom Fighting All-Stars was a 3D fighting game planned for the arcade and PlayStation 2 that was to be developed by Capcom. Like King of Fighters Maximum Impact, it was designed to translate a 2D fighting game series into 3D. This was done previously in the Street Fighter EX series, by Arika, but not directly by Capcom.Capcom Fighting All-Stars attempted to utilize modern console graphics with characters from Street Fighter and other Capcom series, much like the Marvel vs. Capcom series. Capcom beta-tested the game, but after negative feedback from players and more months in development, the game was canceled in August 2003.

While the game never received an official release, the idea of Capcom’s own characters in a crossover game would be instead used in a 2D fighting game, Capcom Fighting Evolution, released in 2005. One of the original characters slated to debut in All-Stars, Ingrid, would appear in Evolution and later on in the PSP port of Street Fighter Alpha 3. [Info from Wikipedia]

Gun Beat [DC/Arcade – Cancelled]

gunbeatlogo.jpg

GunBeat (also known as Glitter GunBeat) was an action/racing game created by Treasure for the Sega NAOMI arcade hardware in 1999. It was location-tested publicly, but canceled before its release. A few videos and images remain the only reliable sources of information about the game.

The game, which would have been Treasure’s first fully 3D title, appeared to have players race each other around circuitous tracks riding mounts, including a giant hamster. The game had action and combat elements, as well.

Production was terminated when the lead programmer left the company. This programmer has not been identified by name, but founding member “Fukuryu” is known to have left the company around this same time, and remains the best guess of fans. Treasure was not initially pleased with game’s progress and chose to end the project rather than attempt to replace the project leader. [Infos from Wikipedia]

Chocobo de Battle [Arcade? – Tech Demo / Unreleased]

Choboco is a chicken-like creature but taller than it, that apeared in many FF in the FF series, such as FFX or X-2. There was a game called Choboco De Battle, developed by official SquareSoft L.A. This was considered a first game that release for Arcade, and a best graphic ever with range of polygon from 8 million to 80 million per second. That because it was used a Sig Onyx 2 workstation. The last time we seen it, is was at Sig 1997, running on a Onyx 2c without a coin-slot, and with a computer CRT screen. The game was cancelled for unknown reason, some rumor said that because they want to focus to the future of home console rather than develop it on a arcade using other technology. Now we wait until someone leak the ROM!
