Times of Trouble is an action adventure that was in development by 4x Studio in 2002, for the original XBOX and Playstation 2. They probably never found a publisher interested in the project, so it was later cancelled along with other 4X games.
Set in a post-apocalyptic environment, the original Powerslide was a racing game developed by Ratbag Games and released for the PC on December 1998. In 2003 Ratbag were working on a (self-funded) sequel, know as Powerslide: Slipstream, but the project was canceled because they were not able to find a publisher interested in the game.
As we can read in the original press release, “Powerslide: Slipstream featured drive-anywhere environments full of jumps and action across twelve post-apocalyptic environments, including Berlin, Los Angeles, London and Sydney. Wheel-to-wheel collisions promise spectacular accidents, with special animated features on the vehicles, including moving fins and stream vents for slipstream mode.”
Fallen Kingdoms is a cancelled western RPG that was in development in 2004 / 2005 by Warthog Games for PC and the original XBOX. The gameplay would have probably been something like Baldur’s Gate, with real time combat and various quests to complete. The scenario was interactive and the player was able to burn down trees and other conbustible materials with fire magic or to froze water with ice magic. The project was never released as Warthog Games was bought by Tiger Telematics in 2004 to develop exclusively for Gizmondo system. In 2006 Tiger Telematics went bankrupt putting an end to the studio existence.
Crazy Car was a racing game in development by Synaptic Soup in 2001, but it was soon cancelled, probably because they never found a publisher interested in the project. Players would have been able to build vehicles from many weird components and take part in races over a series of flying islands.
