The Deep was a prototype developed by French development studio Darkworks during 2009 for Xbox 360 and PS3. Started after finishing their contract with Ubisoft for I Am Alive, The Deep was pitched to various publishers. In 2010 it was used to present Darkworks’ stereoscopic 3D technology for next-generation consoles.
After The Deep, Darkworks worked on other prototypes including Black Death and Prodigies.

There’s a slogan in Russian “Воин, экономь электроэнергию!” (“Soldier, don’t waste electric power!”) at 0:10. It’s interesting if you remember that Cold Fear partially took place on a Russian ship (haven’t actually played the game, don’t know if this “graffiti” is just taken from there – they sure could reuse some assets for a demo).
Thanks a lot for the info Ilya, it’s an interesting one. This could really have been somehow related to Cold Fear
The Deep was a tech demo for TriOviz.
“The Deep is a PlayStation 3 concept project (also speculatively for other consoles) designed in part as a tech demo of TriOviz stereoscopic 3D engine technology. Created by Darkworks (designers of Alone in the Dark: New Nightmare,) this game project showed off complex effects and 3D depth in a futuristic horror shootout between an armed super-soldier and a bizarre, underground-dwelling creature. ”
I can provide also some more pics and press infos.
