I first learned of this game in an interview posted at The Epyx Shrine, which seems to be defunct. Here’s the archive.org link:

    The story:
” the SNES and Megadrive versions had been finished for at least six months – year by that point… but Microprose had run out of cash and couldn’t afford the monstrous costs required to ship cartridges into the marketplace… thus the SNES and Megadrive versions were never released (this happened with a number of the games I/we worked on at that point – which was a real shame as some of them were excellent!) “

So the game is complete? I would love to see a ROM of this as a fan of Impossible Mission on the 7800 & the sequel on the NES!
