Strider is an action game that was in development for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC by Grin, the same team behind titles such as Terminator Salvation, Wanted and the cancelled Wanted 2 and Final Fantasy Fortress.
Not much it’s known about this unreleased reboot, apart that the project was dropped after the release of Bionic Commando in 2009, probably due to the game’s commercial failure and Grin’s financial difficulties that eventually bankrupted the company. In the gallery below we can see some preliminary concept arts made by Grin Barcelona, the Spanish division of the Swedish software house.

None of the artwork even remotely reminded me of Strider.
Seriously, looks like they were going to screw the Strider games up just like Shinobi and Ninja Gaiden… Ughhhhh..
Glad this didn’t come out.
When I hear of a cancelled game, i always feel a bit sad… but this can’t be seriously Strider! I mean, graphic is really good and charming, but the setting is totally different from the original games! What were the developers thinking? Not another awful reboot, i hope lol
To me, there’ll be only one true Strider: the nes one! If they’re going to remake it, then I’ll buy if for sure!
W Hiryu & M Matic!
The arcade game was surely the best, I liked the NES one too.
how would it be published by ubi if it is a capcom ip?
thank god it never had a release
derper basically after capcom dropped the project, grin barcellona tried to sell the proto, of course without the strider ip anymore, to ubisoft.
i will update the description later :)
thanks yota, that’s pretty interesting :)
This isn’t Strider, but probably something that uses its name. And it looks outstanding.
