Eight Days and The Getaway PS3: cancelled

Eight Days and The Getaway PS3: cancelled

Thanks to Gamesindustry.biz we got the news about the cancellations of 2 big Playstation 3 games, Eight Days and The Getaway 3. The reasons for this are “due to the redistribution of resources and budget” as the company said. On Wikipedia we read that “Eight Days was to be a PlayStation 3 game from Sony’s London Studio. It was shown for the first time at Sony’s E3 2006 press conference. It was a hybrid of a third-person shooter and driving action that shares similarities with the PlayStation Portable game, Pursuit Force” and “the Getaway 3 was to be the third installment of Sony’s sandbox games series”. We’ll add these 2 games in our archive later, while we start to wonder if the PS3 will be the best console for the unseen gaming in this generation. Searching the anwswer, we can start to look at these videos:

I'm an Italian gamer with not enough free time to play as much as i'd like to and sadly not enough time to write about cancelled and beta games. Founder of Unseen64 in 2001, i'd like to sleep more than 5 hours a day, but i have to pay the bills. I'm currently working for various italian & international websites for a better User Experience & Search Engine Optimization, you can add me on Google Plus,Twitter, Last FM or contact me by email.

Sony’s London Studio was ordered to cease development immediately on these 2 (for the reasons you’ve stated).Studio was expected instead to concentrate on Sony’s Singstar and Eyetoy Franchises instead as these were highly lucrative for Sony.

I sent interview questions to someone who could of answered a few aspects on these 2, but as in a few cases, sadly never heard anything back in reply.

Did’nt bother chasing up either, as that’s always proven to be utter waste of time as well. :-(
