Celine has found a screenshot and a little description from a misterious Saturn adventure game, that was know as “Chinese Detective”: we cant find any more informations about this title and it could have been cancelled, or maybe released with a different name. Do you have any clue?
Thanks to Celine for the contribution!
Update: this game was really released for the Saturn as “WanChai Connection“, you can find the final boxart and some infos at Segagaga Domain. Thanks a lot to Yakumo for the information!

This game is actually Wanchai Connection. The screen shot shown there is taken from a CG mok of the game and appears on the Saturn New World Promotion video. Other very early versions of games on that video include Victory Goal, Panzer Dragoon, Daytona USA, Magic Knight Rayearth, Blue Seed, Van Battle (renamed to Battle Monsters) and many more.
i knew that you had the answer to this mistery Yakumo :) So, it was released! Thanks a lot, i’m going to fix the description!
you’re welcome. If I ever find my copy of that very early Japanese Saturn promotion video I’ll be sure to let you guys know. It has loads of very early game footage.
Wow, that was quite obscure. No way I’ve could find about it.
By the way Yakumo do you know if in that promotion video you cited there was a greenish dragon ( an anctual dragon , not the stylized one in the final version) for the Panzer Dragoon part ?
yes, that video does have the so called 32X version of Panzer Dragoon shown for a few seconds but as we all know it is in fact a CG Mock-up of what the developers wanted Panzer Dragoon to look like. I had an awful lot of very rare early Saturn video footage before the machine was ever released in Japan. Pretty much everything was still in development. The very sad thing is that I lost most of it when I moved from the UK to Japan. Well, when I say lost I mean it’s still in my parents place somewhere in the loft.
