Eon of Tears was a biblical-fantasy RPG, based on the premise that there is a Bible Code that gives a special power to those who can harness it. The game was cancelled, but this is the developer’s description and we are not really sure if we wanted it to be released: “The main objective was to learn how to decode it and understand its power. After going through different periods of time, from the very Creation to the End of Times, learning the true meaning of the Bible and facing all kinds of creatures, you had the ultimate choice of using that power to help save the world or destroy it. In EoT, players had to accomplish several quests in order to accumulate special powers and wisdom. Eon of Tears was aimed at a mature audience, offering a mix of Survival Horror through its gameplay and traditional RPGs with its actions.”

Team SAS [XBOX – Unreleased]

Head-shots are all well and good for dispersing enemies in a jiffy, but if you want to be even more lethal with a gun then Rage’s Andy McNab: Team SAS could have been the game for you. Using feedback from the infamous SAS bloke Andy McNab, Rage had incorporated a whole host of new features into this Xbox exclusive FPS. Firstly, head-shots are out, if you wanted to kill instantly then you had to shoot under the nose so that the victims’ brain turns to a gooey mess. Nice. The game also had a fast arcade pace similar to Sega’s Outtrigger, meaning there should have been hardly any dull moments and pointless wondering around.. at least if the game was released.

Sam & Max: Freelance Police was a graphic adventure computer game developed by LucasArts as a sequel to the 1993 title Sam & Max Hit the Road. The final game in the company’s adventure game era, Freelance Police was originally intended to be released for Windows in early 2004.

Freelance Police was first announced in August 2002, and was later fully unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo convention in 2003.The development of the project was lead by Michael Stemmle, one of the original designers for Sam & Max Hit the Road, while Steve Purcell assisted in developing the game’s plot and artistic direction.

Although the game’s development appeared to be proceeding towards completion without difficulty, LucasArts abruptly cancelled production of Freelance Police in March 2004, citing “current market place realities and underlying economic conditions” in its press release. The cancellation of the game was received very poorly by fans of the series, Steve Purcell and the video game industry’s media, many of the latter seeing this move as the culmination of the decline of the adventure game genre.

LucasArts later terminated its adventure game development, and many of the Freelance Police design team left to create Telltale Games and continue development of such adventure games. Steve Purcell moved the Sam & Max franchise to Telltale Games in 2005, where it was developed into an episodic series of games. Entitled Sam & Max: Season One, the new series debuted in October 2006. Ultimate Blade of Darkness [XBOX – Cancelled]

Ultimate: Blade of Darkness was an Xbox port / remake of the PC game “Severance: Blade of Darkness”. The XBOX game was in development from Rebel Act (Spain), to be published by Codemasters. Due to poor sales from the PC game Codemasters cancelled the XBox port and Rebel Act went out of business shortly afterwards.
