The Ace of Spade is a cancelled action game that was in development by Ubisoft in 2004, for the Playstation 2. The team created an early playable prototype that was probably used for an internal pitch, but in the end the project was never finished for unknown reasons. The game had a cover/fire system similar to the one used in Namco’s Kill Switch and later in Gear of Wars.

The cover system looks exactly like the one used in gears of war…actually this entire gameplay reminds me of gears of war.
How is this Gears of War to you? It’s clearly Splinter Cell rip off. Same cover system, same animations.
The cover mechanic also appeared in Rebellion Software’s Rogue Trooper game, no idea which was 1st, it or Kill.Switch.
Apparently Kill.Switch started out as a Dead To Rights game, before being reworked.
Maybe Winback on the N64? If I remember correctly the main designer later went to work on Gears of War!
Full Kill.Switch origins story being sent to you.
Just spoken to 1 of the team.
