Midland [PSX/Saturn – Cancelled?]

Saga Darvulia has found an old magazine with an article about a misterious action RPG called “Midland”, that was in development by “Future Soft” (??) sometime in 1996. From the look of the only screen available, the game should have probably been for the Playstation or Saturn. There are basically no other info on this project, so we can assume that it was cancelled, but it could also be possible that it was relased under a different name in Japan. If someone recognize this game, please let us know!

Thanks to Saga Darvulia for the contribution!

I think this game may have actually been released as Solvice on the Saturn. The game was released by Altron in 1998, but it’s possible the game could’ve switched developers and been delayed. In fact, it seems the magazine may have even gotten the company name wrong completely. Like Midland is described here, Solvice is areal-time polygonal RPG, you can play as either a male or female character, and even the graphics are strikingly similar.

wow, thank you Bluesky! it indeed looks a bit similar to Sorvice ( ソルヴァイス), by looking at the screenshot I thought it could have been a side-scrolling game, but by looking ad videos from Sorvice it could have been a top-down view :O
