Gekido is a series of beat ’em up created by Naps Team, released on the Playstation and GameBoy Advance. A GameBoy Color version of Gekido was developed too, but the only proof of its existence is an old page on the official Naps team website and some lines in wikipedia. There are no cartdidges on Ebay, no ROM floating around the web, no review available, almost no screenshots… we can speculate that Gekido GBC was never published for some reasons.
Gekido for the PSP was also in development but never released.

Q:Quale fu la reazione dei publisher alla vostra proposta [Gekido] ?
A:Trovammo parecchie difficoltà nel proporre il progetto ai vari poduttori. Cercammo di spiegare che il genere in questione non era morto, e che si era solo assopito a causa degli scarsi risultati maturati da alcuni sviluppatori, ma in principio nessun sembrava darci ascolto. In effetti fu dura, però alla fine avemmo la nostra rivincita, anche se, per scelta del publisher, il primo capitolo della serie ( quello per Game Boy Color n.d.r. ) non godette di adeguato eco …
Un vero peccato se ci penso: riprendeva in pieno tutti i punti saldi dei grandi classici del genere come Ninja Warriors e Dragon Ninja, miscelandoli a elementi presenti in Ghost ‘n Goblins e Trojan.
From that interview it’s still not really clear if the game was released or not.. :(
