Seen Biosfear down as being planned for:3DO, Jaguar and 32X.Rumors of a protype of Jaguar version said to exist etc.

what we DO know is the 3DO was the platform of choice for the developers, after tossing up between Jaguar and 3DO, they went for 3DO because of the ARM chip and the DSP being fast enough to create a pretty detailed game.

Full interview with them on 3DO Biosfear can be found at:

I did email 2 of the team who worked on the 3DO version to see if any work had actually been started on the Jaguar version (i’ve my own doubts on this aspect), but never heard a thing back.

But personally i’ve always viewed the game as yet another in a long line of lost games from that era that really would’nt have done much, if anything for either 3DO or Jaguar, so it’s not great loss.

I’m kinda at the stage where i’d loved to have seen say 3DO Soviet strike or Legacy Of Kain or even MGS if claims that it was originally was down for 3Do, are true, rather than see code for what appear to be average-to-medicore titles like this or Commander Blood or the like.

It sounds harsh, but both 3DO and Jaguar needed killer, exclusive games to stand anything like a real chance of just surviving long enough for follow-on hardware like Jaguar 2 or 3DO M2/Bulldog to be finished and games written for them…

Things like this just never struck me as having the potential to do anything for the fortunes of any of the platforms it might have ended up on.

Well ASG certainly hyped the proverbial backside off this one.

Whilst it seems when asked about details regarding the gameplay of the Jaguar version, they could’nt give any details, instead they’ve been quoted as hyping up the custom 3D Polygon Engine they’d developed on PC and were said to be porting to Jaguar (no idea if they ever started, let alone finished said engine conversion).

They (apparently) claimed in terms of 3D Polygon model complexity that: Cybermorph (jaguar), Starfox (SNES), Virtua Racing and Virtua Fighter were…’all crap’ compared to theirs :-)

Plot was that humanity, having polluted Earth’s atmosphere, was forced into living in gigantic biospheres, player tasked with reversing the pollution.

Meant to be a 1st person, texture mapped affair.

I found a old flyer of AGS Technologies that includes B.I.O.S. Fear. If time allows me, maybe i could put it here hopefully…

The other planned ASG title for Jaguar, Hoosenose and Booger:

I’ve read ASG wanted to be the Jaguar’s Sonic/Mario type game.

Game itself had been in planning stages for over a year before any real work started on it.
