The developers thought it was stupid too..

This is why they opted to create a more “Adult” game, because the Jaguar was turning out to be more of an Adult system. The game that came out of it was called “Black Ice, White Noise” and was soposed to be a cyberpunk thriller that sported the music of Nine Inch Nails.

Eventually the game went bust and Trent was insulted at the offer that Atari gave him to do the music.

Jeff Minters tongue in cheek comment about an Atari Mascot Game for the Jaguar.

Jeff:Well I reckon if Sega have got Sonic, Atari should have a cute llama as a theme character. She’d have big brown eyes with long eyelashes, fluffy fur, and the ability to spit neutron death at the bad guys…

Core Design’s Jeremy Heath-Smith pointed out that the market during the 32X/Jaguar era simply didn’t want a mascot based game like Chuck Rock or Zool as they had 5 years prior.

So it showcases just how stagnant Atari’s thinking had become when they invited people to try and come up with potential mascots for the Jaguar.
