Beyond Oasis (aka The Story of Thor) is an action RPG released in 1994 for the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis. Celine has found a beta screen of the game in EGM 61, in which we can notice some little differences in the HUD and in the clothes of the characters. As Matthew has noted, in the final game the HUD switches sides depending on the action and the lightness on the hero is from him pressing A to cast the magic shot, so that are probably the reasons of the “differences” in the image. The rest of the color differences might be the way it was scanned.
Also, Servbot01 found a possible beta version of the game (check the video below):
A sample of this strange version of Beyond Oasis for Mega Drive/Genesis, probably a very early beta. It comes on an old Smash Pack collection for Dreamcast and I never see it to download on any site. Features a new enemy (it shows blood when defeated), new (but locked) itens like the Spear, a teleport system, different musics and other things.
Thanks to Celine and Matthew for the contributions!

We can notice in this beta video a simple debug menu for view stages and go into it directly by pussing the “Map” menu.

I’m not sure those are differences. In the final game the HUD switches sides depending on the action and the lightness on the hero is from him pressing A to cast the magic shot and the rest of the color differences might be the way it was scanned

The music that plays on the title screen is also in the Streets of Rage 3 ROM for some reason (but not Bare Knuckle 3, oddly enough)
