You said little shop of horrors is a musical and on that you're only half right- the 1980's remake of teh 1960's movie was a musical, the classic was far more sinister and had NO MUSICAL NUMBERS! WOO!

My fault, she had only two arms, its actually more of her hair showing. xD; And something's weird about the Spider boss from the beta, it looks like he's blinking as he moves across the screen. O_o

Ooh, I've heard about that, and I never thought that a prototype would ever exist after so long considering that Monster Party was pretty an odd ball of a game (but still enjoyable :3) ... until seeing that video just now... wow. Also, right away you can clearly see the beta title screen how it differs from the retail version we got. And it seems that not only the title screen and two of the bosses had a different design in the Beta - but Medusa as well! If you look closely in the video, you'll notice she has a body with four arms, ears and no tail like in the retail version (most likely its probably under the flowing blood red dress she's wearing). Her face looks intimidating, and the way her arms are posed - it seems she was intended to use the same pattern of attack like the Cow Monster and Punk Rocker in the game while hurling her snakes at you.

I have to admit, I like this version of Medusa better than the large snake boss with snakes for hair. Though I understand the prototype of the Spider Boss looked too disturbing to keep in the game, but they shouldn't have changed the Plant and Medusa bosses since they resembled more like the box cover.

I stand corrected in regards to my previous comment. The Japanese beta version DOES EXIST! It recently sold on Yahoo! Japan for the equivalent of $6,000 U.S. I can only hope they will find someone to dump the ROM so everyone may finally play this version. That and someone to translate it as well. I knew it existed, just didn't think I'd ever see it.

Here's a video posted by the purchaser:
