A big event that happened after this trailer came out and Shadow the Hedgehog was released was that the ESRB introduced the E10+ rating. Most Sonic fans theorized that SEGA originally planned for the game to get a T rating due to its graphic content. After the rating came out though, SEGA decided to shoot for an E10+ which they ultimately succeeded in getting. I can't really confirm that all the changes were removed after release, but I do know that my launch day copy is rated E10+. I also am pretty sure the aliens bled green blood.
