Very early into the development of Rayman 2, it was a 2-D game for the PlayStation. This was later scrapped for the 3D game that Rayman 2 became. Pictures of the 2D version and concept art (a green villain with a chainsaw) and mentions of powers such as the platform fist were published in gaming magazines such as EGM. – [info from Wikipedia]
Update: It seems that a playable demo of this 2D prototype can be unlocked as a bonus level in the Playstation 1 version of Rayman 2.

This is how Rayman should have been and should have stayed.

I’m not sure how to unlock it, try this:
Get 90% or more lumz, then beat the game and let the credits finish.

I wish they released that game, it seemed to be great!
If you search in youtube Rayman 1-2 project you can find some information about a fan game being developed based on this canceled version

Do you really think Rayman 2 would be better this way?! How?! The system used here is almost the same as the system used in Rayman 1. No action, nothing impressive or new. Rayman 2 is one of the best games ever!

I have played every rayman game invented! My fav is rayman 3 or rayman designer. I think that they should have released this as a rayman 1 add on pack and keep the rayman 2 we have now.
P.S. I downloaded rayman 2 for PSP but it doesn’t have a license file and when I try to play it, it says: The copyright protection information is invalid. Does anyone know how to fix this?
