Project H.A.M.M.E.R. was an action-adventure game for Wii, which was being developed by Nintendo Software Technology Corp. The game was first revealed at E3 2006, but later vanished from future showings and faded into obscurity.

In the game, players controlled a cyborg named M09, fighting to save major cities across the United States that were under siege by killer robots. Swinging the Wii Remote would have resembled swinging the protagonist’s hammer.

I STILL hav the issue of nintendo power talking about this game
I showed it to everyone at school and my dad to show how cool the wii was gonna be swinging a hammer….but then in late 2007 I just figured it was gonna come out after waiting sooo long
And now I found out today it was cancelled

Thanks for the info McGee :) It’s still sad that all the hours and work that you put into it had to be trown away. Do you remember anything about the following project, Wii Crush? Was it better?

Nintendo said that development is currently “paused”, but if it really is canned, then that’s a shame, because, even if it didn’t really look very fun, because it looked very repetitive (just like pretty much every other beat ’em up in the history of humanity), it could’ve actually been good. Even if they just make it Zelda with a hammer, I would be happy, I guess.

People need to stop feeding the troll. And yeah the game looked like it would be interesting and I hope they may show what the other cyborgs past M-9 are like. Also the cyborg scientist villain with his armor off looks cool. I wonder what his name was gonna be.
